Drought is causing major shortage of food in Philippines
The temperatures are soaring in the high 90's everyday, and the winds are also blowing steadily, and the ground is parched and the crops are all dead. I know it is hard for us to understand in the land of plenty that we live in. But these people live from one harvest to the next on the little patch of ground they may farm, and when there is no harvest there is no food.
Ten months of drought has now produced despair and sickness and many of the elderly and children are suffering. No water also causes the shallow wells to dry up. so even drinking water is now dangerously low . Some of the hardest hit areas are where the Lord has instructed us to plant churches. These are areas where God has said we needed to go and support and share the good news of Gospel with them and help to work with in the communities to bring hope and love and peace. Each of our churches have feeding programs for the children, but we are now needing to help feed the community or we will see the increase of death among the children's parents and siblings.
In order to meet this demand of love upon us we are beginning a Drought fund to raise $10,000 dollars for the purchase of rice and dried peas for the communities. This will allow us to purchase around 12500 kilos of rice to distribute in 5 communities in desperate need.
We would also like to raise an additional $ 15000.00 dollars for the drilling of deep wells for each community.
Please pray about giving to these in such desperate need. If you feel you would like to help please use our donate button on our page and send to One Life Ministries and ear mark for," Drought rescue." These people need a miracle; are you possibly the miracle they need. Thank You for your help and remember no gift is to small when given in love. Your $5.00 or even 1.00 or $1000.00 dollar gifts are all equally rewarded and received with thanksgiving. ......
