Teaching and News 10/08/2014
The picture in this news letter is one of the great beauties in the Philippine Islands. Here is Mount Apo reaching high into the sky piercing the clouds as if to be giving praise to God. Mountains are a great reminder of the greatness and strength and stability of the Lord. Mountains can also picture, God’s people who are the place, and nation, of God’s great safety, strength and stability. All those who are able to see her, or live in her, experience this beauty that is built by God. If we take this to its most common value it is you and I, who are individually, the Church of Jesus Christ. We become the place of peace and safety and strength. We are the mountain of the Lord where people come to learn of God’s ways. We are the living stones, fitly joined together, and the temple of the Holy Spirit.
Most of us would agree to this as we have knowledge of what the Bible says, and we are able to quote scripture readily. I would like us to consider the need to BE the church (action), and not just knowledge. We must move from the noun(Passive form) of the word to the verb use of the word.( action and application) This is true about all these truths that we carry in our knowledge concerning who we are and what has been given to us through Christ.
In Isaiah we read:
(Isa 2:2) In the future, the mountain with the LORD's temple will be the highest of all. It will reach above the hills; every nation will rush to it. Also we can see in (Isa 25:6) On this mountain the LORD All-Powerful will prepare for all nations a feast of the finest foods. Choice wines and the best meats will be served. 25:7) Here the LORD will strip away the burial clothes that cover the nations.
These are exciting promises of the day of the Lord, and they are also pointing out the high calling of God on the church. These are both present and future prophetic realities. I would ask, does not the world have the right to look to us as the place where they can find hope and strength and peace? Are we not the place where the choicest of wisdom, and knowledge and power are available for their needs. The church is the abiding place of the Holy Spirit and the place where the New Covenant of God is released. Isaiah could see this coming forth with His prophetic anointing. He sees the Feast of the Lord with choicest of meats and wines, which are a picture of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. He is the choicest of the choice. His will alone can meet and satisfy every need, and He greatly desires to do so. This is the message spoken of in John 6 where Jesus Himself declares that we must eat of His flesh and drink of His blood.
Like the picture presented to us through Lazarus who was dead for 4 days, the world had been captured and held under the bondage of the sin and death and the old covenants for 4000 years (1-day = 1000 years – see, 2 Peter 3:18) Jesus waited purposefully to raise Lazarus on the 4th day to declare prophetically that He was the new covenant and the new and Living way. He commanded that those who where there watching to unwrap Lazarus from the grave clothes. The 4000 year reign of death and bondage was to be unwrapped from all those who receive the feast of Christ, the perfect Lamb of God. I ask you, isn’t yet this a great part of the ministry of the church, of who we belong, and are today? We are the Mountain of the Lord that is exalted above every other Mountain, and we from our exalted place look down on the other mountains and see their great needs as they are still under the curse of the law and sin. With great compassion and love we are compelled to go to their aid with the message of redemption and the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. With great joy we release them from their grave clothes and teach them of His ways. Yes the world is looking for a savior a helper and comforter. When we together become actively engaged in being the Mountain of the Lord all their needs can be satisfied. Amen
Update Ministry
This has been a busy season as the Lord has had us teaching and traveling with-in the United States the past few months, We have been in Middletown, Pa at the Fountain of Church and also in Philadelphia, at the Living Word Church, in North East Philadelphia. They were celebrating the 3rd year of their new Pastors. I was very blessed to be a part of this celebration. This is mostly a Nigerian church, with several other African nations present and a mixture of white Americans. They were in the process of installing Deacons and elders as well as two assistant pastors. It was a great celebration as the Glory of God manifested among us. From Philadelphia we traveled to Bronx, New York. We were at Grace and Peace church, White Plains road. Here we celebrated the 19th year of existence and the 7th year of the Pastors Eddie and Ida Diaz. We love this aggressive Spanish church as it is always joyful and saturated with the presence of God. The Love of God was our main theme and the presence of God filled the church as the people were greatly touched.
I just recently returned home to Florida, from Baltimore, MD, Community Gospel Church. I was with old friends Jan and Leslie Drayer, and also Paul and Cindy Butler. We taught on the Glory of the Kingdom and the fullness of Christ. The weight of His presence was so heavy in one service my knees buckled and I could not stand from the weight of His Glory. It was a rich time in Baltimore. GOD IS SO GOOD.
Food for Life Update
Our feeding program in the Philippines is going well. We are still running 3 programs with a total of about 350 children. I want to say thank you for all who help us make this happen. We are currently looking at expanding into a new region, the city of General Santos. We will be working closely with missionaries Spencer and Sally Tolson. This couple currently lives in this city and has many years of outreach here through YWAM missions. They will help us reach and establish feeding programs to the most urgent needs in this city. Please pray for us and also pray for the support needed to feed these children. To feed 50 children a nourishing meal 6 days per week, once a day, is $7000.00 per year. This does not include any administration expense, which we try to keep at 10 to 12 percent annually. Therefore we will budget, $8000.00 for the General Santos feeding program, for 2015. Please pray how you can be involved. Our other projects in Davao will continue as currently operating.
We are very thankful to the other organizations that operate also in the Philippines as the need is greater then one organization could handle. We literally have the opportunity to feed more then 1000 children in the city of Davao alone that have no assistance.
The sight of children and single mothers living in the street sleeping in door ways is a common scene. Yet we know we can make a difference, One Life at a time. Thus the name of our Ministry. Both physically and spiritually we operate on this motto. ONE LIFE, EACH LIFE is significant to the LORD.
Personal needs and prayer
1. Our own Home
2. Heath for Janet and Myself
3. Finances to continue to go to the tribal peoples of the earth, who have very little of this worlds blessings as we know
4. To meet our Budgets for feeding our children whom we have committed to.
5. Wisdom, as I have invitations to travel to India, Kenya, Guatemala, Mexico, Nigeria, Philippines, and Cambodia. These are expensive trips and will all take the miracle provisions of God. (I live hear in this place of dependency and love to watch the Lord to perform his miracles for us)
6. For the increase of the presence of God on our lives and the power of the Holy Spirit. 2014 has been amazing in the increase of miracles and power as we minister. More LORD
Thanks each and every one of you who have taken the time to read this letter and pray on behalf of Janet and Myself.
