Over the last month, our friends and partners in the Philippines on Mindanao Island have been dealing with 5-15 earthquakes each day. Recently they have been hit with a 6.4 earthquake hit the province of North Cotabato (about 50 kilometers
from GenSan), a 6.6 and a 6.5. All of these have been hitting an area that is still trying clean up from the previous ones.
There have been so much damage and it is difficult to know damage due to buildings collapsing, landslides, etc but we know that the death toll will rise as the cleanup continues. We have been made aware that one of our pastors lost family members as the mountain gave way.
From our One Life partners in the area, we have gotten reports of the needs and they are great! People have lost so much and don't know what to do.
What can you do?
1. Pray. Please pray for these people who are hurting, grieving their losses and are fearful of what might come. Prayer is not the "least we can do", it truly is the greatest thing we can do.
2. Give. You can donate now to help these people who have lost so much. Simply go to the "Donate" page in the menu above, click the "donate" button which will direct you to the Tithe.ly giving page. Under "giving type", select "Philippines Disaster Relief" with your tax deductible donation.
